Abstract

An evaluation on the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship between Republic of Turkey and People's Republic of China
The Turks, whose origins go back to Central Asia, started their first relations with their neighbors, the Chinese, in their lands, about 4000 years ago. The Turkish states established in their ancestral lands laid the foundations of diplomatic relations with their contemporary Chinese dynasties. Turks, who came to Anatolia and established new states in the historical process, continued their connection with China, which continued its existence as a deep-rooted civilization in the Far East, although it was interrupted from time to time. The diplomatic relations between the Republic of Turkey, founded in 1923, and the People's Republic of China, founded in 1949, could only begin in 1971. It can be said that the relations developed with the People's Republic of China, Turkey's second largest trading partner, have made significant progress today. In this study, it will be tried to analyze the factors affecting the historical development of the diplomatic relations established between the two states 50 years ago.
